Steam Voyage at Palombara Comix

On January 3 and 4, 2026, SteamVoyage will be a guest at Palombara Comix, the festival dedicated to comics, role-playing games, LARP, and cosplay. This is the first edition of Palombara Comix and will be held in the prestigious Savelli Castle in Palombara Sabina, a place steeped in history and therefore the perfect backdrop for an RPG-themed festival.

The Palombara Comix program is packed with amazing guests, and there will be plenty of booths too: from manga, action figures, collectible cards, 3D prints, tattoos, and fantasy-themed gadgets, Palombara Sabina will transform into a Nerd's Paradise. For us, the Festival is an unprecedented opportunity: we won't just be showcasing our handcrafted accessories for role-playing and board games, but we'll also be offering authentic experiences.

The idea is to transform the old prison of Savelli Castle into a Master Leatherworks, where you can take leather and hide-working courses to create gadgets you can take home with you at the end. Master Gabriele will be the artisan inventor who will lead the courses:

• Forging the Dice Case of Fate - Apprentices will embark on a feat worthy of the most skilled craftsmen: the creation of the Dice Case of Fate, a leather pouch designed to protect their dice as if they were arcane relics. During the session, adventurers will learn to:

1. 1. Cut the rawhide, tracing precise shapes like a runic scribe would.
   2. Attach a button closure, so the contents remain safe even in the heart of quests.
   3. Sew a basic seam along the edges, a fundamental step for those who wish to master the path of craftsmanship.

At the end of the training, each participant will take home their own case: a functional object and a handcrafted heirloom, the fruit of their skill and the fire of the forge. A perfect experience for adventurers, dice keepers, game enthusiasts, and anyone wishing to learn an ancient art.
The training lasts 60 minutes, costs €20, and will be held in two morning sessions: the first from 10:30 to 11:30, and the second from 12:00 to 1:00. Please note: places are limited, so book quickly!

• The Emblem Keychain - Anyone passing by the forge can try their hand at this quick test of skill. Each visitor can choose a small leather plaque and engrave it with arcane symbols and signs. The Fair's official Emblem can be imprinted in the center of the piece as a mark of honor. This quick and simple ritual, designed for adventurers of all ages, will allow them to take home a unique memento of their visit to the castle.
  The event lasts about 15 minutes, and to participate, simply show up at the Forge starting at 2:00 PM. For a fee of €5, you will be provided with the tools needed to decorate your Palombara Comix keychain, so everyone can take home a personalized version of the gadget.

If that weren't enough, a section of the Forge will be dedicated to gaming. You can challenge the Master in a game of Azul, chess, or Carcassonne: all three board games are handcrafted, crafted from hand-painted leather, epoxy resin, and metal, for a more immersive gaming experience than usual.

As for me, I'll be playing a gypsy witch and taking care of the younger adventurers. In the Forge, even the littlest ones can have fun with the Young Adventurers' Trial: with a simple roll of the Fate Die, they'll reveal their character's race, class, and orientation and receive an illustrated sheet depicting their new alter ego, ready to color and take home as a souvenir of the fair. A fun, immediate, and immersive activity, perfect for little dreamers, aspiring magicians, young warriors, and anyone who wants to take their first steps into a world of fantasy. This activity doesn't require a reservation, costs €2, and lasts a maximum of 15 minutes.
