A Shaman Between Cosplay and RPGs

The new trade show season is approaching, and SteamVoyage is offering a new collection of accessories for tabletop and live-action roleplaying, with a nod to the world of Cosplay. From clothing accessories like earrings and headbands to decorative items to bring to live-action roleplaying sessions, and even a full-fledged magic book, the new collection is full of surprises!

We began with the image of an Ethiopian Shaman, Abeba Tesfaye, Keeper of the Silent Roots: a wandering druid, healer, and mediator between nature spirits and ancestors. We created Abeba's character sheet, envisioning her first as a roleplaying character, and then crafting a series of articles that would be part of her legacy.

The first object we created is also the most important: a magical book made of wood and leather, decorated with African-inspired patterns, fabric appliques, and wooden beads. It contains a complete ritual cycle divided by the phases of the day, with prayers, invocations, recipes for elixirs, and procedures for arcane rites.

While the Magic Book can be easily transported and used during LARPs and cosplay events, some of our items are designed to enhance your home or meditation space. Candle holders in the shape of a sleeping dragon, a treasure chest embellished with real stones, and brightly colored herb jars are some of the items found in Abeba's home that she left us.

Abeba was a vain shaman: the collection also includes crocheted headbands, ethnic necklaces, and pendants perfect for nature-inspired cosplay. New additions also include rare items, such as magic dice to carry around and ready-made potions.

On April 18th and 19th, we'll be presenting Abeba at the 2026 edition of Rocca Comics in Scandiano: an event dedicated to RPGs, board games, and cosplay seemed perfect for our shaman! We'll also have Abeba's character sheet at the booth, ready to share. In the meantime, all the items are now on the website and ready to be used in gaming sessions.

In short, whether you're a cosplayer looking for new ideas or a live-action or tabletop role-player, the collection inspired by the Ethiopian shaman Abeba Tesfaye certainly has something for you. Come discover it at Rocca Comics 2026!
